Distance: 43 miles
Elevation Gain/Loss: 1733 ft
"The Towers" refers to the antennas near the corner of Cave Creek Rd and the tunoff to Lake Bartlett. This 43 mile route heads toward the highest point around. Enjoy nice views from the northeast corner of the Valley. Get all your workout in during the first half of the ride and a pleasant come-down for the return leg.
The last little bit of Cave Creek Road before the turn-off to Bartlett Lake is not necessary to get great views of the valley from around 3100 feet of elevation. But, if you do, the ranger station near that intersection can be a rest and refreshment stop. Then it's all pretty much downhill from there on this loop. The route is a mix of road types from state highway to neighborhood streets and country lanes. Generally, there are bike lanes where the traffic is bad and the parts without bike lanes are fairly low-traffic. Generally! As always, ride safe and be responsible.
